WET INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup 120ml whole or 2% milk (or almond / oat milk)
- 1 cup 245g plain Greek yogurt (or regular plain yogurt)
- 1 tbsp 20g honey (or maple syrup)
- 1 tsp 5ml pure vanilla extract
FRUIT
- 1 medium 120g ripe banana, sliced into rounds (fresh or frozen)
- ½ cup 75g frozen strawberries and blueberries, about half and half (or frozen mixed berries)
Slice the banana into 1-inch (2.5 cm) rounds.
Pour the milk, Greek yogurt, honey and vanilla into the blender jar.
Add the banana slices, then the frozen strawberries and blueberries on top.
Blend on low speed for 15 seconds to break up the frozen berries.
Increase to high speed and blend for 45 to 60 seconds, until completely smooth, thick and pink-purple. Scrape down the sides once if needed.
Adjust the texture: add 2 tbsp milk and pulse for 5 seconds if too thick, or add a few more frozen berries and blend for 10 seconds if too thin.
Serve immediately in 2 chilled glasses, within 10 minutes of blending.
Note 1 — Storage & meal prep : Best within 10 minutes. Keeps up to 24 hours in a
full, sealed glass jar in the fridge (shake or re-blend before drinking). Freeze
leftovers in ice cube trays or popsicle molds for up to 3 months. Prep freezer
bags of banana slices + ½ cup berries and blend straight from frozen.
Note 2 — Substitutions : Regular plain yogurt instead of Greek (thinner, less
protein). Plant-based yogurt + oat milk + maple syrup for a vegan version. Frozen
mixed berries (with raspberries or blackberries) work too; blend a little longer.
Note 3 — Technique : No blender with a lot of power? Blend the frozen berries with
the milk alone for 30 seconds first to break down the seeds, then add the rest.
