MAIN
- 1 large ripe banana about 120g, fresh or frozen, broken into pieces
- 3 large scoops vanilla ice cream about 1 cup / 150g
- ¼ to ½ cup whole milk 60 to 120ml, to taste
TOPPINGS (optional)
- Whipped cream
- 1 maraschino cherry
Peel the banana and break it into big pieces at the bottom of the blender.
Add the 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream and pour in the whole milk.
Blend for 30 to 45 seconds, until smooth, thick, and velvety.
Pour into a tall glass, add a straw, top with whipped cream and a cherry if desired, and serve immediately.
Note 1 : Storage — this milkshake is best enjoyed fresh. It doesn't hold well in the fridge once blended; freeze in a sealed container for up to 1 month instead and re-blend after softening.
Note 2 : Substitution — for a dairy-free version, swap the vanilla ice cream for a frozen banana and a splash of plant-based milk.
Note 3 : We tested this with a standard countertop blender — a high-powered blender will make it even smoother.
